This summer Green Roots Okinawa is opening our very first nature summer camp!
Using our garden schoolhouse and local park as our hub, we’ll play, create, sing, explore, and connect with the natural world.
What We'll Do
Gardening
We’ll do real work in the garden, including planting seeds, harvesting, and tending to the garden
Cooking Together
We’ll prepare food together, learning how to use local and seasonal ingredients from the garden and local farms; what we cook becomes part of our lunch and afternoon snack
Outdoor Play
Fun nature games, free exploration, and time to run free outdoors
Nature Crafts
Working with found and natural materials, we will create arts and crafts that children can be proud to take home each day
Nature Table
Collecting natural treasures throughout the week to display, fostering a sense of ownership and pride
